HTML Tables Tutorial

Page 3 - Example of a Table

In the following example Cell #1 and Cell #2 are "related" because the are in the same row. Cell #3 and Cell #4 are also related by the row they are in.

The tricky part is that Cell #1 and Cell #3 are related because they are the first cells in their rows. Similarly Cell #2 and Cell #4 are related being the second cells in their respective rows. Therefore Cell #1 and Cell #3 are in the same column, as are Cell #2 and Cell #4.

<table border="1">
   <tr>
      <td>Cell #1</td>
      <td>Cell #2</td>
   </tr>
   <tr>
      <td>Cell #3</td>
      <td>Cell #4</td>
   </tr>
</table>
=
Cell #1 Cell #2
Cell #3 Cell #4

Border is an attribute which will be explained later. It is needed here, however, to show the rows and their cells.
